Change Management: “Our Iceberg is Melting”

Through life whether in business or in your personal life you have to go through or lead various different aspects of change. It could be as simple as a new relationship or entering a new stage of life or possibly going through a work change such as a new job or a reorganization. Each change, if successful, will go through a series of steps that John Kotter has noted in his 8 Steps of Change.

  1. Establish a sense of urgency
  2. Create a guiding coalition
  3. Develop a clear shared vision
  4. Communicate the vision
  5. Empower people to act
  6. Create short term wins
  7. Keep it going, build on the gains
  8. Institutionalize the change
