Through life whether in business or in your personal life you have to go through or lead various different aspects of change. It could be as simple as a new relationship or entering a new stage of life or possibly going through a work change such as a new job or a reorganization. Each change, if successful, will go through a series of steps that John Kotter has noted in his 8 Steps of Change.
- Establish a sense of urgency
- Create a guiding coalition
- Develop a clear shared vision
- Communicate the vision
- Empower people to act
- Create short term wins
- Keep it going, build on the gains
- Institutionalize the change
